Brean Theme Park in Somerset, which claims to be the UK's largest free-entry theme park, has reopened for the summer season despite entering liquidation earlier this year. The family-run attraction, which began as a campsite in 1946 and introduced rides in the 1970s, now boasts over 40 rides including the Bulldog Coaster and Sky Diver.
Company House records show the park appointed Hazlewoods LLP as liquidator in early 2026, citing 'significant financial challenges'. However, the park confirmed its return via a Facebook post on March 20, 2026, stating: 'Brean Theme Park is back, and we honestly can’t wait to see you all there for another incredible season!'
Visitors praised the reopening, with one commenting: 'Welcome back! The boys love it here!' Another added: 'I'm so happy you're reopening again.' The park operates on a free-entry model, with visitors purchasing wristbands for rides. Wristband prices range from £16 to £32, allowing unlimited rides from fitting until closing.
While many enjoy the park, some visitors have noted occasional ride closures. A TripAdvisor review from September 2025 mentioned that several rides were closed, causing disappointment. Nonetheless, the park remains a popular destination for families, with one reviewer calling it 'a great day out with the family'.
