Turkey has been named the top destination for UK holidaymakers seeking the best weather over the Easter period, according to a new ranking by TUI. The travel company analysed historical data on average rainfall, wind speed, and temperature in early April to calculate a Good Weather Score for popular destinations.
Turkey historically offers the most ideal weather conditions during Easter, with average temperatures of 18°C and minimal rainfall of just 0.01mm. The resort of Marmaris in southwest Turkey emerged as the top individual location, frequently experiencing highs of 19°C with gentle breezes and dry conditions.
Marmaris, located on the Turkish Riviera, boasts a marina, grand bazaar, and the 16th-century Marmaris Castle. It also offers sandy beaches such as the six-mile Long Beach (Uzunyali) and the more tranquil İçmeler Beach, which features sandy coves and mountain views.
Greece ranked second on the list, with average temperatures of around 16°C and extended sunny days. Bulgaria came third, praised for its pleasant and balanced climate, gentle winds, and minimal rainfall. Bulgaria is also noted as a growing hiking destination, with the Rila and Pirin mountain ranges offering both gentle and challenging trails, as well as beaches along the Black Sea coast.
