US death row inmate Christa Pike was able to speak after she was taken off the ventilator days after surviving a failed execution attempt in Tennessee, an expert advising her team said.
Failed execution attempt
The convicted murderer was given two doses of pentobarbital in a failed execution attempt last Wednesday. When the second dose did not end Pike’s life, and she was heard snoring, she was rushed to hospital with horrific injuries.
Continued medical care
Pike continues to receive medical care after surviving the failed execution attempt in the US.
