Actor and musician Sam Palladio, best known for his role as country songwriter Gunnar Scott on ABC's television series Nashville, has been announced as the headline performer for an exclusive country music cruise organised by travel agency cruise.co.uk.
The star, who most recently appeared in the Bob Marley: One Love biopic and the series The Couple Next Door, will take the stage aboard Ambassador Cruise Line's Ambience vessel during the “Nashville Nights No-Fly Authentic Country Music Cruise”. The four-night sailing departs from London Tilbury in Essex on 25 March 2027 and is designed as an adults-only experience.
Themed Events and Entertainment
Passengers can look forward to a wide array of country-themed activities, including country music quizzes, silent discos, fitness sessions, line dancing classes, and open mic sessions for aspiring singer-songwriters. Tribute acts will honour legends such as Johnny Cash, Shania Twain, Lainey Wilson, and Luke Combs, while bands like The Charmed and Britt & The Backbeat will also perform. The traditional formal night will be replaced by a “Denim & Diamonds” evening, encouraging guests to dress in their finest western wear.
Industry Reaction
Tony Andrews, managing director of cruise.co.uk, expressed his enthusiasm: “Sam Palladio’s authentic connection to country music, combined with his experience on Nashville and his growing recording career, brings genuine star power to the ‘Nashville Nights’ experience. Guests won’t just be watching performances; they’ll be immersed in the spirit of Nashville itself. His presence perfectly complements the lineup of live music, themed events and experiences, creating a vibrant atmosphere from start to finish.”
Prices for the cruise start from £679 per person for an ocean view stateroom. Country music cruises have become increasingly popular, with Marella Cruises hosting a “Country Rhythms” cruise last month featuring a Dolly Parton impersonator. Norwegian Cruise Line and Celebrity Cruises have also offered similar themed sailings in the past. Celebrity Cruises’ newest ship, Xcel, boasts the “Saddle Up Saloon”, where guests can participate in line dancing, enjoy country music, and take dance lessons.
