Police have boarded Disney's new cruise ship, the Disney Adventure, in Germany just days after its departure, arresting two workers on board. The vessel, measuring 1,122ft in length and 150ft in width, had stopped at a German port to refuel when officers conducted the operation.
One of those arrested was a Croatian worker wanted by Bavarian Police for driving under the influence of alcohol. He had been sentenced in 2022 to pay a fine of £2,081 or spend 60 days in prison; after paying the fine, he was allowed to remain on the ship. The second arrest was for fraud, with a warrant issued by the Munich District Court. The individual was taken off the ship and to a correctional facility.
A spokesperson for the German Federal Police said the two were “shipyard workers travelling with the ship”. The Disney Adventure, which can carry 6,700 passengers and around 2,500 crew, is scheduled for its maiden voyage from Singapore in December. The ship features seven themed areas inspired by Disney, Marvel, and Pixar, with Broadway-style shows, deck parties, and themed restaurants.
