EasyJet Passenger Arrested After Racist Tirade on Belfast-Manchester Flight

A woman in her 50s has been arrested after launching a foul-mouthed racist tirade on an EasyJet flight from Belfast to Manchester on Friday, 17 January. The incident, which was captured on video, saw the woman making derogatory comments about Muslims and Ukrainian people, and allegedly stealing a bag of crisps from a flight attendant.

Witness Shauna Corr, 44, described the woman's language as 'atrocious and racist', adding that she felt sorry for the families and children on board. The woman's behaviour escalated towards the end of the flight, prompting other passengers to tell her to be quiet and a steward to warn her that police would be called.

Upon landing at Manchester Airport, police arrested the woman on suspicion of being drunk on an aircraft. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed she was taken into custody for questioning. EasyJet stated that the safety of passengers and crew was their priority and that such behaviour is not tolerated.
