Lloret de Mar: Cheaper Ibiza Alternative for Summer 2026
Lloret de Mar: Cheaper Ibiza Alternative for Summer

Lloret de Mar, a Spanish mainland resort, is emerging as a budget-friendly alternative to Ibiza, with holidays costing up to 45% less. The destination offers a mix of lively nightlife and relaxed coastal days, mirroring the Balearic island's famous party scene with big clubs, stylish beach clubs, boutique hotels, and Mediterranean dining.

Significant Savings on Costs

According to the travel team at Sundeals, visiting Lloret de Mar in September can yield deals around half the price of a summer break in Ibiza. Late September and early October remain pleasant, with 24C days and warm sea temperatures, minus the summer crowds.

Specific cost comparisons show a sunbed at a beach club costs about €45 (£38.50) in Lloret, versus €60 or more (£51) at many Ibiza clubs. A three-course meal for two is around €50 (£42), and beers average €3 (£2.56), helping budgets stretch further.

Beyond the Nightlife

The resort also offers cultural and natural attractions. Visitors can walk the Camí de Ronda, a coastal path linking hidden coves with pine forests, and explore the Santa Clotilde Gardens, a clifftop spot with Renaissance-inspired designs. The fortress of Castell de Sant Joan provides coastal views from its summit.

Tossa de Mar, a short bus ride away, features a medieval city with 12th-century walls, cobbled streets, a lighthouse, and seafood restaurants along the water.

Travel and Dining Tips

Lloret de Mar lacks its own airport; the nearest is Girona–Costa Brava Airport, 30 km away, with Barcelona-El Prat Airport 90 km away offering more flight options. Ryanair and easyJet fly direct from Liverpool John Lennon to Barcelona.

Taylor Marshall, a product executive at Sundeals, recommended Gammarus Beach Club for its setting above the coastline. For dining, Restaurant Sant Elm offers authentic Catalan dishes like suquet de peix from €14.50. Marshall also suggested walking part of the Camí de Ronda to Sa Boadella Beach to discover the rugged coastline and hidden coves.
