Jet2 has introduced a free 10kg luggage upgrade for families travelling with infants under two years old. The airline automatically adds the extra allowance to an accompanying adult's checked baggage, allowing one suitcase to weigh up to 32kg. This perk is applied at check-in without the need for pre-booking.
Infants can travel free of charge on an adult's lap, and while they do not receive their own baggage allowance, the extra 10kg per infant is added to the adult's 22kg hold bag. Families report that total baggage allowance can usually be pooled across multiple cases, provided no single case exceeds 32kg.
In addition to the luggage upgrade, Jet2 allows families to bring up to two extra items on board at no cost, such as a car seat or pushchair. Each item must weigh no more than 32kg. Any additional items or weight beyond the allowance will be charged as standard excess baggage.
Jet2's policy is similar to those of other family-friendly airlines like easyJet and Ryanair. The airline also advises passengers flying from Faro Airport in Portugal to arrive early due to new European Entry/Exit System (EES) checks, which began on October 12, 2025, and are being phased in for non-EU and UK travellers.
