Jet2 Adds Extra Summer Flights to Greece from Birmingham

Jet2 has announced a substantial enhancement to its summer flight operations, responding to robust demand from British holidaymakers. The budget airline and tour operator is significantly increasing its flight schedule during the peak summer months of July, August, and September 2026.

Expanded Services to Greek Destinations

The airline has confirmed it will provide additional flights to Greece, specifically departing from Birmingham Airport. This strategic move involves boosting capacity to two of the most sought-after Greek islands: Crete and Santorini. The expansion solidifies Jet2's position as the largest operator to Greece from the Midlands airport.

Details of the Additional Flights

The new schedule includes extra weekly services to cater to the surge in bookings. For Crete, specifically Chania, additional Wednesday flights will operate from Birmingham Airport starting July 1st through to September 23rd. Similarly, for Santorini, extra Thursday services will be available from July 2nd until September 24th.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, emphasised the popularity of Greece as a destination. He stated, "Greece is an enormously popular destination, and it continues to appeal to customers and independent travel agents looking to enjoy some much-needed sunshine." He added, "As the UK's favourite airline and tour operator, we know just how much holidaymakers love these Greek destinations, and we are delighted to be once again stepping in to meet demand."

Responding to Market Demand

The decision to increase flight frequency was driven by substantial customer demand, reflecting the enduring appeal of the sun-soaked Greek islands among British tourists. Heapy noted, "We have an unrivalled programme on sale to Greece for Summer 26 from Birmingham Airport and are now expanding that to give customers and independent travel agents even more choice and flexibility with the addition of extra flights to Crete (Chania) and Santorini."

This development underscores the airline's commitment to adapting its services based on passenger preferences and market trends, ensuring holidaymakers have ample options for their summer travel plans.
