Dua Lipa and Callum Turner’s Sicilian wedding has sparked a wave of travel inspiration. After a legal ceremony at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall, the couple married at Villa Valguarnera, an 18th-century former royal residence in Palermo known as Little Versailles. Lipa wore a crystal and feather-embellished Chanel haute couture gown, while Turner chose a custom Louis Vuitton suit. Black-and-white photographs in the style of old Hollywood dropped on Instagram, captivating the internet.
The Italian honeymoon itinerary
The couple’s love affair with Sicily began in summer 2025 with a visit to Palermo. Their wedding unfolded over three lavish days at Villa Valguarnera, a 37-acre estate owned by a princess. The villa, available for private hire at an undisclosed price, is regarded as one of Italy’s most romantic venues. After the nuptials, they stayed at Villa Igiea (nights from £1,500), a five-star resort in a 19th-century palazzo.
They then travelled down the coast to Taormina, staying at the San Domenico Palace, Four Seasons (nights from £7,800), where the latest season of The White Lotus was filmed. The 14th-century former convent boasts manicured gardens, a pool overlooking the Ionian Sea, and a private beach.
From Sicily, they continued to Italy’s boot, staying at Villa Paola in Tropea (nights from £919), a boutique hotel in a 16th-century abbey with a pastel facade and tiered garden by the sea. The road trip continued to Bernalda, where they visited Palazzo Margherita (nights from £2,400), an A-lister favourite with hand-painted frescoes and mosaic tiling. Next was Villa Treville in Positano (nights from £1,688), perched on a rugged clifftop with just 16 rooms, a retreat for Coco Chanel and Elizabeth Taylor.
In Rome, they chose Hotel Locarno (nights from £400), a charming period piece near Piazza del Popolo. A 40-minute drive away, La Posta Vecchia Hotel (nights from £650) in Ladispoli is a Renaissance palace with antique furnishings and marble features, once the private coastal residence of billionaire J. Paul Getty. The couple concluded their honeymoon in Tuscany at Hotel Il Pellicano (nights from £700), built in the 1960s as a love nest on a clifftop in Porto Ercole. Their final stop was Reschio (nights from £955), a private estate between Umbria and Tuscany beloved by David Beckham and Gwyneth Paltrow, spread across 1,500 hectares with a tree-lined pool.
Keep it European
Lipa has a strong preference for Europe, making her holidays easier to emulate. She named Southern Albania her number one travel destination. The Albanian Riviera, dubbed the “Maldives of Europe” for its turquoise waters and white sand beaches, remains relatively underexplored and affordable. Lipa frequents Ksamil, where she has a permanent residence at Kep Merli, an ultra-luxe resort in the hills above the Ionian coast. Guests arrive by helicopter or golf buggy to a private beach cove. A day pass costs £20, and mains at the restaurant start at £15 (nights from £760).
Other European favourites include Deià in Mallorca, where she stayed at La Residencia, a Belmond Hotel (nights from £1,338). She visited Belmond’s Splendido in Portofino in 2022. In Naples, she browsed record stores and dined at trattorias. She enjoyed a family holiday at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes (nights from £1,224) and stayed at The Costes Hotel in Paris (nights from £695), dining at Chez Janou. She also has a yearly tradition of celebrating her birthday in Ibiza, renting a private villa.
Bring a thought-provoking beach read
Lipa is a voracious reader and runs the Service95 book club, recommending a different book each month. Early recommendations included Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams, Luster by Raven Leilani, Trick Mirror by Jia Tolentino, The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett, A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, and Misery by Stephen King. Since launching Service95 in 2022, she has recommended The Bee Sting by Paul Murray, Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Grief Is The Thing With Feathers by Max Porter, and 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez.
Wear maxi dresses and layered swimwear
Lipa favours teeny bikini tops with layers. In Albania, she wore a Martine Rose lace-up track top over a blue gingham bikini top, a yellow scrunchie, and a woven Bottega Veneta beach bag. Her favourite swimwear brands are Frankie’s Bikinis (around £100 per item, with bikini tops as low as £30 on sale) and With Jéan (around £150 for a set). She accessorises with silver jewellery, including Tiffany & Co cuffs, a knot necklace, and a silver cross. For evening, she wears sheer day-to-night beachwear or evening dresses, such as a black lace halterneck dress or a glittering Isabel Marant beach dress over a black bikini with cherry ties.
Boats, cards and cocktails
Lipa rarely posts a holiday photo dump without a boat pic. In Mallorca, she chartered a luxury Tesero yacht called Goldfinger to tour the coast, dining at Ca's Patró March restaurant, known from The Night Manager. Her holiday photos often show her playing cards, smoking, and drinking cocktails. Her favourite cocktail appears to be a martini with a fat olive, though she also enjoys a Negroni.
