Five new easyJet routes will be taking off from Newcastle International Airport this winter, and they are available to book now. The direct flights to worldwide destinations give those seeking a holiday abroad in October or November a plethora of options.
New Destinations and Schedules
The first new route is to Barcelona, with flights beginning on October 25, departing twice a week on Friday and Sunday. The vibrant Spanish city offers wonderful architecture, sweet seasonal food, and street markets.
From October 27, flights will leave on Tuesday and Saturday to Hurghada, an Egyptian resort city known for year-round sunshine and low chance of rain. It is ideal for escaping the chilly North East weather.
Copenhagen becomes accessible from November 5, with flights on Thursday and Sunday. The Danish capital offers crisp weather, but the Christmas wonderland Tivoli Gardens and Copenhagen Light Festival are worth seeing.
Berlin flights start on November 20, departing Monday and Friday. The city is renowned for its Christmas markets, cultural scene, museums, and panoramic views from the TV Tower.
Rovaniemi, the fifth new destination, launches on November 25, with flights on Wednesday and Sunday. Known as the official hometown of Santa Claus, it is also a prime spot for viewing the Northern Lights.
Expansion and Commitment
This expansion is part of easyJet's continued push, with the airline quadrupling its Newcastle network since launching its base in March 2026. The five new flights bring its total routes on sale to 31.
Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: "We are delighted to announce another five new routes and more package holidays from our new base Newcastle Airport for this winter, providing customers with even more choice and connectivity from their local airport."
Leon McQuaid, Director of Aviation Development at Newcastle International Airport, added: "easyJet’s new winter routes and package holidays to Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Hurghada and Rovaniemi are fantastic additions to our growing network, offering even more choice for passengers."
