Cruise Worker Reveals Secret Code Word For Death On Ship

A former cruise director has disclosed the secret code words used by crew members to handle emergencies without alarming passengers. Brandon Presser, who served as a cruise director for a week, shared the codes he learned during his time on board.

Presser explained that the codes are essential for staff to manage situations discreetly. For instance, '30-30' signals a request for cleaning crew to address a mess, while 'PVI' stands for a public vomiting incident. More serious codes include 'Alpha' for a medical emergency, 'Bravo' for a fire, and 'Kilo' for all personnel to report to emergency posts, such as during an evacuation.

He also revealed that 'Echo' indicates the ship is drifting, and 'Oscar' means someone has gone overboard. A crew member told Presser that in ten years of cruising, he had only experienced four or five 'Oscar' incidents. The codes allow crew to respond swiftly without causing panic among passengers.
