Casa Italia, the iconic Stanley Street restaurant in Liverpool, is introducing a weekend breakfast service for the first time in its 50-year history. The new offering is scheduled to officially launch on Saturday, October 31, and will run every Saturday and Sunday morning between 9am and 12pm.
The venue currently welcomes more than 3,000 customers every week and has been a city staple since 1976. Owner Arran Campolucci-Bordi explained that the management team has wanted to roll out morning dishes for some time, and entering the busy winter period provided the ideal opportunity to finally bring the concept to life.
Italian twists on breakfast classics
The bespoke morning menu will feature Italian twists on classics, including a Full Inglese and Italian eggs. Diners can also enjoy traditional favourites such as Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale served on fresh focaccia.
Guests looking for lighter bites will be able to choose from a selection of flavoured croissants. The food will be accompanied by a full drinks menu featuring fresh juices, hot coffee, and morning cocktails.
Family-run since 1985
Management decided to branch into mornings after noticing a significant surge in demand across the city's popular breakfast and brunch scene. Team members are confident the new venture will be warmly embraced by local food lovers.
The restaurant has remained in the same family since 1985, when Mario Campolucci-Bordi took over the business. Today, 36-year-old Arran leads the venue, marking 15 years at the helm of the family-run institution.
The announcement comes shortly after the venue celebrated its milestone 50th anniversary with a surprise 1976 pricing promotion. Unsuspecting diners received nearly 90% off their bills while staff served tables in retro 1970s uniforms.
