More than half a million people queued for tickets when they went on sale at midday on Friday, October 9, with demand surging for the fight at the Principality Stadium. The cheapest tickets start at £88.50, including fees, while the most expensive are £13,128, according to Ticketmaster.
Hotels and rentals surge in price
City centre hotels are now heavily booked, with some remaining rooms costing around £2,500 per night. With more than 80,000 boxing fans expected to arrive, Cardiff residents are also renting out their homes for large sums as hotel accommodation runs out.
On Airbnb, a two-bedroom rental in Cardiff is listed at £3,000 a night, while a six-bedroom house is advertised for £7,250. The Leonardo Hotel in the city centre is currently £3,245 on booking.com, and Lincoln House Private Hotel on Cathedral Road has rooms for £2,688.
