A British tourist was violently attacked and robbed of his £40,000 Rolex watch in front of his wife and young daughter in Majorca. The 44-year-old man was walking in the resort of Port d'Andratx after dining at a luxury hotel when three masked men emerged from a car and assaulted him.
The robbers, believed to be part of an organised gang, snatched the watch despite the victim's resistance. The man's daughter screamed, alerting hotel staff, and local police arrived within minutes, but the suspects had already fled in their vehicle.
Spanish Civil Guard investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses. Sources suggest the gang had been watching the family for hours before striking. The extent of the Briton's injuries is not yet known.
The incident follows warnings from Spanish police about a rise in thefts targeting tourists at all-inclusive hotels. Authorities have urged holidaymakers to remain vigilant, especially in common areas like pools and beaches, where belongings are often left unattended.
