Old motorbike crash may have contributed to Gwynedd man's death

Jackie Wyatt, 69, was found dead at his home in Blaenau Ffestiniog by carers last month. An inquest into his death opened in Caernarfon today, where the coroner reported that a suspected fall at his home may have been influenced by injuries sustained in a motorbike accident decades earlier.

Fall at home and hospital transfer

Coroner Kate Robertson, of north west Wales, said Mr Wyatt appeared to have had a fall and sustained frontal bleeding, North Wales Live reports. He was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, where he was confirmed dead by a doctor at 3.46am on September 26.

Mr Wyatt, of Maes y Plas, Blaenau Ffestiniog, was identified by hospital protocol.

Contribution of old injuries

The coroner said previous injuries from a motorcycle accident many decades previously "appeared to have more than minimally contributed to his death."

A full inquest will be heard at a later date.
