Bath Crowned UK's Most Walkable City, Topping York and Oxford
Bath Tops UK Walkability Rankings, Surpasses York and Oxford

A recent study conducted by Sweepstakes Table has identified the most walkable cities in the United Kingdom, with Bath emerging as the top destination for pedestrians. The beautiful city, renowned for its Roman architecture and stone houses, scored an impressive 99.04 on the walkability index, surpassing other popular cities such as York and Oxford.

Why Bath Is the Most Walkable City

The study found that all of Bath's key attractions are located within 1.3 miles of each other, allowing visitors to stroll between them in just 29 minutes. Highlights include the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, and the Royal Crescent. One Reddit user commented: "Bath is a wonderful city to walk in. I've lived here for two years without a car, and it's been a pleasure."

However, the user noted that the University is situated on a hill, which some students find challenging to walk up, often opting for the bus. They added: "The bus can get busy at peak times. You can get a scooter halfway up the hill at the moment. If you're going up five days a week for 9am, it might get annoying. But overall, no, you don't need a car, and often you're better off without one."

Another traveller remarked: "Unmissable! And if you are in London, you can make a return trip the same day and still get to know Stonehenge. The town is old, of Roman architecture, beautiful, medieval, with stone houses."
