Two American men tried Pimm's for the first time while punting in Cambridge, and they were blown away by the quintessentially British summer drink.
The pair sampled the drink from a boat offering a range of alcoholic beverages, curious about why Pimm's has generated such hype over the years. Kalani, who posts on TikTok as @kalanighosthunter, and his companion were out on the water when they decided to taste the "UK's drink of the summer".
A first taste of a British staple
As Kalani took a sip, he spotted "some strawberries in there, some mint". His friend called it "so refreshing", but Kalani's verdict in a single word was "dangerous".
"You don't even taste the alcohol," he said, while his mate noted that on a "very hot day" like the one they were enjoying, the drink's refreshing coldness makes you want to gulp it down.
The pair joked that things could "get interesting" if they kept drinking Pimm's as if it were water rather than a fairly strong alcoholic drink.
What did the Americans think of Pimm's?
Kalani compared the taste to a mix of Sprite and iced tea. He said: "It kind of reminds me of if I combined a Sprite and iced tea. The strawberries are the best part [...] it has that nice alcohol flavour in there. That was delicious."
The pair thoroughly enjoyed their punting adventure, describing it as genuinely relaxing, though Pimm's clearly stole the spotlight. Kalani joked he needed "a jug, a pitcher," or "a gallon" of the drink.

Commenters on the video had plenty to say. One warned: "Beware because Pimm's doesn't half creep up on you. One minute you're punting along, all civil and elegant, and the next you're pole dancing on the punting pole singing Rihanna at the top of your lungs."
