Royal Mail has issued a warning of delivery delays affecting 13 UK postcodes, including the BH and DT areas. The disruption is due to local issues at six delivery offices, though the company's air and road networks continue to operate normally.
The Dorset Mail Centre has confirmed that not all post was processed and dispatched on time over the past 24 hours, leading to delays for some items destined for the BH and DT postcode areas.
In a statement, Royal Mail said: "We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors. In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive."
The six delivery offices experiencing disruption include Oxford, Petersfield, and Whetstone. Royal Mail has not provided a full list of the 13 affected postcodes but has advised residents to check for updates.
