PSG have set a £140 million price tag on winger Bradley Barcola, who is now expected to leave the Champions League winners after refusing to sign a new deal. The 23-year-old has attracted interest from Liverpool and Arsenal this summer.
Barcola's refusal to extend his contract, which runs until 2031, has led PSG to consider a sale if their valuation is met, according to the Evening Standard. The French club believe the fee, which would be a record sale for them, is fair given recent market movements, including Morgan Rogers moving for £117m and Elliot Anderson for £116m.
Interest and competition
Barcola helped France reach the World Cup semi-finals, scoring three times, and has netted 13 goals last season after 21 the previous year. However, he is not a guaranteed starter under Luis Enrique, sitting behind Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the pecking order at PSG.
Real Madrid and PSG are also pursuing RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande, who is on Liverpool's radar. A move for Diomande to Paris could push Barcola even further down the order.
Liverpool are seeking a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who left after nearly a decade at Anfield. They have shown a willingness to spend big, and landing Barcola could break their British transfer record. Arsenal, meanwhile, are prioritizing a move for Vinicius Jr.
PSG manager Luis Enrique had previously warned off rivals from signing Barcola, insisting he was crucial, but the winger's role has since diminished.
