Project Hail Mary, one of the most anticipated sci-fi films of 2026, is finally coming to streaming. The blockbuster, starring Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, a middle school teacher who wakes up on an interstellar ship with no memory of how he got there, will be available on MGM+ from June 18.

Despite being produced by Amazon MGM Studios, the film is not on Prime Video initially. However, it is expected to arrive there later as a secondary destination for MGM+ titles.

Adapted from Andy Weir's 2021 novel, the film grossed $681 million (£509 million) globally, making it the third highest-grossing film of 2026 so far. Its popularity kept it in cinemas longer than planned. Fans on IMDb have called it a "rock solid masterpiece," with one reviewer saying, "One of the best movies I've seen in a while. So cleverly written, with so much unexpected emotion. Someone better give Ryan Gosling an Oscar for this masterpiece."
The film runs 156 minutes (2 hours 36 minutes). Some fans expressed surprise at the MGM+ release, with comments like "Who the hell has MGM+?" and "I don't know a single person who has MGM+."
