In an era dominated by screens, many parents are increasingly concerned about the impact of digital devices on young children. This has led to a surge in popularity for screen-free audio players, with the award-winning Yoto Player standing out as a device that 'inspires imagination.'
Yoto Originals Week Launch
From May 11 to 18, Yoto is hosting its first-ever Yoto Originals Week, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the creativity behind its exclusive audio content. As part of the event, 14 new Yoto Originals titles are being released on May 11, with a 20% discount on the entire Yoto Originals range throughout the celebration.
What Is the Yoto Player?
The Yoto Player, priced at £89.99, is a screen-free audio device designed for children aged 3 to 12 and older. Users insert Yoto cards to access stories, music, learning, and adventure in a safe, child-friendly manner. The device boasts a library of over 1,000 audio titles, including classics like The Gruffalo and the complete Harry Potter series, as well as music from the Spice Girls and The Beatles.
Yoto Studios and Original Content
Yoto Studios produces Yoto Originals content created by an in-house team collaborating with world-class authors, musicians, and sound artists. Dom Hodge, Head of Yoto Studios, emphasised the commitment to human-made audio: 'Every Yoto Originals card starts with real people—a writer, a musician, a voice artist. In a world where AI-generated content is common, we prioritise human-made audio crafted with care and creativity.'
Free Content and Subscription Options
During Yoto Originals Week, over 11 hours of Yoto Originals content is available for free via the Yoto app's Discover section. Families can access this by downloading the app and creating a free account. The Yoto Club Explorer subscription, starting at £2.50 per month with the first two weeks free, provides access to more than 200 Yoto Originals cards.
Comparison with Other Audio Players
Other screen-free audio devices include the Toniebox (£99.99 on Amazon), which uses characters placed on the device to play content, and the Voxblock (£59.99 on Amazon), a connectivity-free player specialising in books.
