Morrisons Recalls Cashew Nuts Over Possible Glass Contamination
Morrisons Recalls Cashews Over Glass Fears

Morrisons has issued an urgent recall for several batches of its Savers Cashew nuts due to concerns that the bags may contain pieces of glass. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) announced the recall, warning that the product could be unsafe to eat.

Affected Batches

The recall applies to the 125g packs of Morrisons Savers Cashews with the following best-before dates: 9 August 2026, 6 September 2026, 26 September 2026, 28 September 2026, and 9 October 2026. Customers who have purchased these products are strongly urged not to consume them and to return them to any Morrisons store for a full refund.

Company Statement

A spokesperson for Morrisons stated: “No other products are affected by this issue. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.”

Health Risks

Ingesting glass fragments can cause serious harm, including damage to the oesophagus, irritation, and bleeding. The FSA has instructed retailers to display point-of-sale notices explaining the recall and advising customers on next steps.

Previous Incidents

This is not the first such recall. In November 2025, Poundland withdrew batches of The Tasty Snack Co. Roasted and Salted Cashews over similar glass contamination fears, issuing a “do not eat” warning.
