Morrisons Expands Parcel Lockers to 500 Stores

Morrisons has announced a major expansion of its partnership with Quadient subsidiary Parcel Pending to install parcel lockers across 500 stores, aiming to simplify the shopping experience for customers. The rollout follows a successful trial at 230 Morrisons Daily stores in spring 2025.

Rollout Details and Timeline

In June 2025, lockers were installed at 125 supermarket locations across the UK. Over the coming months, the change will be extended to 500 stores throughout the retailer's network, including both Morrisons Daily convenience stores and larger supermarkets.

Services Offered

The self-service lockers enable shoppers to collect and return parcels from multiple delivery companies. Additionally, the lockers support services such as retail click-and-collect, prescription collection, key exchange, and spare parts retrieval. This integration allows customers to manage online orders while completing their grocery shopping.

Company and Consumer Insights

John Parry, head of popular and useful services at Morrisons, said: “At Morrisons, we are committed to providing services that make life easier for our customers and strengthen the role our stores play within local communities. Following the success of our Morrisons Daily partnership, expanding Quadient lockers into our supermarket estate is a natural next step. This partnership enables us to offer customers greater flexibility and convenience while enhancing the range of useful services available through our stores.”

Quadient's consumer research found that 60 per cent of shoppers prefer parcel lockers located at supermarkets, while 59 per cent want to manage deliveries from multiple carriers through a single collection point. Quadient has installed more than 27,000 locker units globally and aims to increase that figure to 40,000 by 2030.
