McDonald's has launched the Candyfloss Frappé, a strawberry-flavored frozen drink that one early reviewer calls the best new menu item in decades. The drink features strawberry, candyfloss, whipped cream, and sprinkles, and will be available from July 14.
First Taste of the Candyfloss Frappé
Shania King-Soyza, who attended a preview event, described the drink as 'the best thing in decades.' She praised its creamy texture and balanced sweetness, noting it avoids the artificial taste common in strawberry-flavored treats. The medium size costs £3.69.
Her boyfriend, initially skeptical due to the 'girly-pop' marketing, ended up enjoying it even more. He called it 'smooth, delicious, and refreshing, perfect for the heatwave.'
Other Summer Drink Offerings
Alongside the Candyfloss Frappé, McDonald's is introducing or bringing back several other summer drinks. The Vanilla Matcha Frappé (£3.69) is available now while stocks last. Returning favorites include Green Apple x Sprite Zero (£2.29), Frozen Cherry Lemonade (£3.09), and Chocolate Honeycomb Frappé (£3.69).
A McDonald's spokesperson said: 'McDonald’s is dialling up the summer vibes with a fresh wave of McCafé flavours landing from July 14. [This is] led by the NEW Strawberry Candyfloss Frappé, a sweet, creamy, nostalgia‑packed treat made for sunny days and social feeds.'
Seasonal Availability
The Frozen Cherry Lemonade will be available through late summer, then replaced by Frozen Strawberry Lemonade in August. The Chocolate Honeycomb Frappé, a rich chocolate frappé topped with cream and honeycomb pieces, is also part of the lineup.
King-Soyza expressed hope that the Candyfloss Frappé becomes a permanent menu item, saying she 'still dreams of tasting the creamy strawberry goodness once again.'
