Manchester United are tracking West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville this summer, raising the possibility of a double transfer from the relegated club. The Red Devils have been monitoring the Netherlands international as they seek to bolster their left-wing options.
United's Left-Wing Search
United had previously targeted Antoine Semenyo in the January transfer window, but he joined Manchester City instead. Since then, the club has been considering alternatives, and Summerville has emerged as a key target. Summerville is currently at the World Cup with the Netherlands, where he scored in their opening match against Japan, a 2-2 draw.
West Ham's Valuation
West Ham value Summerville at around £50 million. The Hammers were relegated to the Championship after 14 seasons in the Premier League, winning only 10 games this term. Despite insisting they do not need to sell, their players are considered attainable by top-flight clubs.
Potential Double Transfer
United are also pushing to sign midfielder Mateus Fernandes from West Ham. Fernandes is seen as a suitable alternative to Elliot Anderson, whom United have stepped away from due to Nottingham Forest's high valuation. This interest raises the possibility of a double transfer from the London club.
Summerville's Background
Summerville joined West Ham from Leeds in the summer of 2024 for £25 million. He had been named the 2023/2024 Championship Player of the Year before making the move. Last season, the 24-year-old contributed seven goals and five assists for West Ham.
Patrick Dorgu's Role
Patrick Dorgu impressed on the left wing for United in January, scoring against City and Arsenal. However, a hamstring injury at the Emirates kept him out for nine weeks, limiting his sample size in that role. United continue to explore options to strengthen the position.
