Manchester United will debut a new addition to their 2026/27 kit during Saturday's pre-season friendly against Wrexham, with the Microsoft Surface logo set to appear on the back of players' shirts. The match, kicking off at 4pm BST, will be played at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium in Finland and marks the opening fixture of United's pre-season schedule.
Details of the Kit Sponsorship Agreement
The Microsoft Surface branding will feature prominently on the back of the men's first-team shirts during pre-season. Following the pre-season tour, the logo will continue to appear on the men's kits for domestic cup fixtures, as well as on women's and selected academy shirts throughout the 2026/27 season.
This placement is not a standalone deal but a direct expansion of United's existing strategic partnership with technology giant Qualcomm. As part of the collaborative tech integration, the companies also plan to release a limited-edition, co-branded Microsoft Surface device for fans to purchase.
Exclusive Wear and League Restrictions
The Microsoft Surface brand will appear on United's kit in pre-season and is expected to feature in cup competitions. However, the Premier League prohibits back-of-shirt sponsors, meaning the logo will not appear when the new league campaign begins.
Existing Snapdragon Partnership Continues
For the opening fixture, the front of Manchester United's Adidas-manufactured 2026/27 kit will continue to display the Snapdragon logo, maintaining Qualcomm's status as the club's principal shirt sponsor. This arrangement ensures both Qualcomm's Snapdragon platform and Microsoft's Surface hardware share high-visibility commercial space on the famous red strips.
