Liverpool's Barcola pursuit may hinge on Gakpo sale

Liverpool are still being linked with a move for Bradley Barcola after the attacker told Paris Saint-Germain he does not want to sign a new contract. The France international is also open to joining Liverpool. PSG are considering selling Barcola, but the Ligue 1 club is demanding around £140m for the 23-year-old. Liverpool will seek a compromise.

Interest in Ibrahim Mbaye

Barcola is not the only PSG player Liverpool are interested in. According to RMC Sport, the Reds are among several clubs showing interest in Ibrahim Mbaye. Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham have also made enquiries about the young winger's situation. However, any club wishing to secure Mbaye this summer will have to pay PSG a fee in excess of €50m.

Cody Gakpo could be key

Journalist Onze Mondial claims that Barcola's arrival is unlikely without Cody Gakpo leaving Anfield, and that the sale is essential to getting a deal done. The Dutchman has been linked with Tottenham in recent weeks, but there has been no suggestion he will be allowed to depart this summer.

Vinicius Junior opportunity

Liverpool have an opportunity to sign Vinicius Junior as his future at Real Madrid remains uncertain. Arsenal are also keen. The Spanish giants want to extend Vinicius' contract, but journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon has claimed that Liverpool were the only club to respond positively when contacted by the forward's representatives. The 26-year-old has scored 128 times and claimed 100 assists in 378 matches. His Real Madrid deal expires next summer.
