The Leonardo Hotel at St James' Gate in Newcastle has unveiled the results of a major £5.5m refurbishment, focusing on a complete bedroom transformation. The hotel, previously a Jury's Inn before its rebranding in 2022, now showcases a bold, contemporary style with custom-made 'Dream' beds designed for enhanced guest comfort.
Key Features of the Revamp
All 274 bedrooms, including twin room options, are being fitted with these bespoke Dream beds, flat-screen TVs with Freeview, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Bathrooms are also being upgraded and stocked with complimentary Elementary toiletries. By June 2026, half of the bedrooms had been upgraded, and by July, the revamp was 70% complete. Public areas are also being renovated, with the entire transformation scheduled for completion by early 2027.
Location and Amenities
The hotel's Scotswood Road location offers easy access for visitors arriving at Newcastle Central Station, making it attractive for both business and leisure travellers. On-site amenities include nine meeting rooms, the largest accommodating up to 100 people, an all-day bar and restaurant, and convenient off-site car and coach parking.
