EA Sports has launched the 'World's Game' update for EA FC 26, coinciding with this summer's FIFA World Cup in North America. The update, version 1.6.0, went live on Thursday, 28 May, and introduces a new 48-team international tournament mode, available from 4 June, featuring 53 licensed national teams.
In Ultimate Team, players who log in during the Festival of Football event starting 4 June will receive a free 93-rated overall Pelé card. This special FoF Icon can be upgraded through three 'Choose Your Journey' evolutions, allowing players to tailor the card to a striker, central midfielder, or winger with specific PlayStyle+ abilities.
The update also introduces an Evolution Undo option, letting players reset evolved players to their original state, restoring tradeability if applicable. A new PlayStyles Lab replaces Birthday Bakery options, making FUT Birthday items eligible for upgrades, and Evolution Repetables allow extra evolution entries.
A new reward system called Tokens will be implemented from 4 June, described by EA Sports as 'the primary way to earn rewards in FUT each week'. Players can earn up to 1,000 Tokens weekly (5,000 total during Festival of Football) through Squad Battles, Rivals, Live Events, Objectives, and SBCs, with a weekly cap to balance rewards across the community.
