Chelsea would only sell Pedro Neto this summer if his suitors pay a premium price, with Liverpool and Manchester City among the clubs interested in the winger.
The Blues signed Neto from Wolves for £54m in 2024. The 26-year-old recently featured for Portugal at the World Cup and is currently on holiday.
Market context and valuation
According to The Mail, Chelsea have noted the high valuations placed on in-demand wingers this summer, such as Bradley Barcola and Yan Diomande, both valued at over £100m. While Neto is unlikely to command such a fee, Chelsea could still ask for a figure significantly above the £54m they paid two years ago.
Managerial interest
It is not thought to be a surprise to Chelsea that Premier League rivals are interested. Enzo Maresca, who favoured Neto as his first-choice right winger while at Chelsea, is keen to work with him again at Manchester City. Liverpool are revamping their squad after Mohamed Salah's departure and are in the market for wide attackers. There is also interest from Saudi Arabian clubs.
Maresca's praise for Neto
Speaking in October, weeks before his exit from Chelsea, Maresca praised Neto: "He's top, he's very humble and working hard. He's a very important player for us, and we are very happy with Pedro. He's exactly the same as other players – he needs to be always 100 per cent, because in the moment that you drop a little bit, mentally or physically, in this league, it's complicated."
