BT has issued an alert to UK homes using its TV service, warning that certain set-top boxes will lose support for the Netflix app from March 4, 2026. The streaming platform is upgrading its service, leaving older hardware incompatible.
According to BT, the change affects older models, while newer ones like the EE TV Box 4K Recordable Box (G5) will continue to be supported. Customers using affected boxes will no longer be able to access Netflix titles such as Drive to Survive, Stranger Things, and Breaking Bad unless they upgrade.
BT reassured customers that their Netflix subscriptions remain unchanged and can still be used on supported devices, including smart TVs, Fire TV Sticks, games consoles, and Apple TV boxes. Affected customers are advised to contact BT to discuss upgrading to a newer model.
