Bournemouth Lower Asking Price for Alex Scott Amid Arsenal and Man Utd Interest

Bournemouth have lowered their asking price for midfielder Alex Scott to approximately £60 million, according to reports. The 23-year-old has emerged as a key target for both Arsenal and Manchester United, who are among the leading contenders to secure his signature this summer.

Arsenal's Interest Intensifies

Arsenal, the reigning Premier League champions, are looking to strengthen their attack and midfield ahead of the new season. Scott impressed against the Gunners during the Premier League run-in, scoring the goal that gave Bournemouth a 2-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium, which briefly threatened Arsenal's title charge. Manager Mikel Arteta is keen to rotate more frequently next term, and Scott could complement the existing midfield options of Declan Rice, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Martin Zubimendi. Christian Norgaard, who arrived from Brentford last summer, is likely to be deemed surplus to requirements.

Manchester United's Midfield Revamp

Manchester United are also monitoring Scott's situation closely. With Casemiro departing, midfield reinforcements are a priority. The club has already agreed a deal for Atalanta's Brazil international Ederson, but manager Michael Carrick needs additional depth, especially with European football returning to Old Trafford. United also hold an interest in Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton and Brighton's Carlos Baleba, but appear to be losing ground in the race for West Ham's Mateus Fernandes.

Reduced Asking Price

Reports last week indicated that Bournemouth would demand at least £80 million for Scott. However, the Daily Mail now claims a fee closer to £60 million could be enough to secure the services of a player who came close to being included in Thomas Tuchel's England World Cup squad. Scott's current contract runs until 2028, but progress on a new deal has yet to materialise as the south coast club begins a new era under Marco Rose, who succeeded Andoni Iraola.

Other Bournemouth Players Attracting Interest

Scott is not the only Bournemouth midfielder drawing attention. United are also said to have admirers for USA international Tyler Adams. Meanwhile, Arsenal have their eye on another Bournemouth player, Eli Junior Kroupi, who enjoyed a stunning debut season on the south coast, capped by scoring the goal that secured European qualification and handed the Premier League title to Arsenal.
