Apple AirTags Hit Record Low Price in Early Prime Day Sale

Apple AirTags have reached their lowest-ever price in the Early Prime Day sale, with a 4-pack of the second-generation trackers now available for £84.55. This represents a 15% saving off the regular £99 price tag, bringing the cost per AirTag to just over £21.

How AirTags Work

First released in 2021 and upgraded with a second-generation model, AirTags are Bluetooth trackers designed to help iPhone owners locate lost items. According to Apple, the newer version boasts a 50% longer range and a 50% louder speaker, making it easier to find keys, bags, or even vehicles.

The trackers leverage Apple's Find My network, which uses anonymous connections to nearby iPhones carried by the public. When an AirTag is out of Bluetooth range, it can still be located if another iPhone passes within range, updating its last known position on a map.

Deal Details

The 4-pack of Apple's latest 2nd-gen AirTags is priced at £84.55 in the Early Prime Day sale, exclusively for Amazon Prime members. Buying four individually would cost £116, so the bundle offers significant savings. AirTags currently hold the number one best-selling spot in Amazon's "item finders" category.

Practical Use and Alternatives

Deputy Technology Editor Henry Burrell, who has used first-generation AirTags for five years, notes they have helped locate keys, track parked cars, and ensure luggage arrived safely on trips. Both generations use standard CR2032 batteries, which need occasional replacement.

However, AirTags are only compatible with iPhones. For those seeking cross-platform trackers, alternatives like Chipolo or Tile Mate are available. Argos, for instance, offers a two-pack of Tile Mate trackers for £22.
