A teenager from Bedford has officially secured a place in the record books after amassing the world's largest collection of Jellycat memorabilia. Hope Roberts, aged 19, has seen her astonishing haul grow to a staggering 1,021 items, earning her a coveted Guinness World Record.
From a 20p Charity Shop Find to a World Record
Hope's journey into the colourful world of Jellycat collecting began just two years ago. It started with a simple discovery in a charity shop: a cream bunny with a pink bow priced at just 20p. "The price had caught my eye," Hope recalls. Familiar with the British soft toy brand, which was founded in 1999, she bought it and soon began receiving more Jellycats as gifts.
"I became more interested in the varieties and the variations," she explained. "My collection grew gradually but quickly." Her passion led to a formal count in December 2025, which verified 877 items for the Guinness World Record application. However, in a testament to her dedication, a more recent inventory shows her collection has already ballooned to 1,021 cuddly toys, key rings, and stickers.
A Home Filled with Joy and Rare Finds
The vast collection is displayed in her bedroom and her childhood room at her parents' house. Hope treats every item with equal affection, whether it's pre-loved, secondhand, or brand new. For her, the appeal is universal. "There are so many different varieties and there's always something for everyone," she said. "Jellycats bring me so much joy and the community is lovely."
Among her treasures are some incredibly rare pieces. She owns a medium and small Bashful Maple Bunny, which sellers on eBay have listed for up to £2,000. Hope managed to snag hers for a bargain price of around £6 or £7. Another prized possession is a rare and retired Juniper Lux bashful bunny, personalised with her name on the ear, a gift from her grandma Sue.
Social Media Fame and Future Plans
Hope shares her collecting journey with a growing online community. She runs a TikTok account with 29,000 followers and an Instagram page (@hopesjellycats) with 22,000 followers, where she posts content about her finds and decorates her displays seasonally.
On December 3, 2025, she was formally presented with her Guinness World Records title. Adjudicator Emma noted during the count: "She is an incredibly bright, lovely, bubbly young lady and she was absolutely elated." The record-keeping body has already asked Hope to redo the count later in the year due to her collection's rapid expansion—a challenge she happily accepts. "It's very crazy and I'm still shocked," Hope said of her achievement. "But it's been incredible."
With no plans to stop, Hope Roberts is set to continue growing her world-record-breaking collection, one joyful Jellycat at a time.
