Time Out Market, the global food market with venues in Portugal, the USA, and Spain, is set to open its flagship UK site in London. The three-floor venue will launch in the first half of 2028 at the gateway of Piccadilly Circus and Regent Street in the West End.
Venue details and offerings
The market will occupy 26,400 sqft of space in a Grade II-listed building, with a selection of restaurants and bars curated by Time Out's local editorial team. Specific vendors have not yet been announced. According to Time Out, London's Market will also "reflect the city's energy, diversity and creativity with a year-round programme of cultural events and entertainment" alongside food and drink.
Regeneration and sustainability
The project is part of a wider regeneration by the Crown Estate, with sustainability at the forefront. The development will feature an energy-efficient building, food waste reduction, and local sourcing.
Chris Ohlund, CEO of Time Out Group plc, called it "one of the most significant milestones" in Time Out's history. He said: "London is one of the world's greatest cities for food and culture, and there is no better location than Piccadilly Circus to showcase everything that makes it extraordinary. Together with The Crown Estate, we are creating a destination that will celebrate London's best chefs, restaurateurs, artists and creators while welcoming millions of Londoners and visitors every year. As our global flagship, Time Out Market London will also become the blueprint for the next generation of Time Out Markets, bringing together hospitality, culture, media, sponsorship and live experiences in a way that only Time Out can deliver."
Global expansion and local impact
Charles Owen, Head of Regent Street at The Crown Estate, described the market as a "significant addition" to the Time Out brand that would strengthen Regent Street's hospitality offer and help drive footfall.
The first Time Out Market launched in Lisbon in 2014, and the concept has since expanded to cities including New York, Dubai, Cape Town, Osaka, Budapest, and Vancouver. There are currently 13 Markets across four continents. London's new market is expected to create around 130 local jobs.
