Tesco has expanded its popular meal deal to include Pot Noodles as a snack option, prompting a flurry of reactions on social media. The move allows customers to pair a Pot Noodle with a main and a drink for the standard deal price of £4.25, or £3.85 with a Clubcard. The premium meal deal, at £6 (£5.50 with Clubcard), also includes the option.
The change was highlighted by Welsh content creator Dhean Morris on TikTok, who expressed bewilderment at the classification. In a video, he showed a Pot Noodle displayed above miniature Pringles in the snack section, noting the incongruity of a substantial pot noodle being labelled a snack while larger fruit pots are mains. He quipped that preparing a Pot Noodle for a snack felt odd, as it requires boiling water.
Social media users were divided. Some praised the addition as a 'game-changer' for workers on long shifts, allowing them to have a substantial lunch and dinner from one deal. Others echoed Morris's confusion, arguing the Pot Noodle should be a main rather than a snack. One commenter called it 'class', while another said it could help people save money by covering both lunch and dinner.
The offer is available until 12 October 2026, according to Tesco's website, suggesting the novelty may be temporary. Shoppers interested in the deal are advised to act quickly to take advantage of the extra value.
