Tesco has announced a temporary expansion of its Home Delivery and Click+Collet booking window, doubling it from four to eight weeks throughout July and August. The change is designed to help customers plan ahead during one of the busiest times of the year, including school holidays, barbecues, days out, and the August bank holiday.
Extended Booking Window Details
Instead of the usual four-week advance booking, customers will now be able to reserve slots up to eight weeks in advance. Customers with priority access can begin booking the additional slots from July 14, while all other customers will gain access from July 21.
Tesco Online Director Rob Graham said: "Summer can be one of the busiest times of the year. Whether you're planning a family trip away, hosting a BBQ, enjoying a day out or simply keeping everyone fed and entertained during the school holidays. We want to make it easier for customers to get organised and plan ahead. That's why we're opening up eight weeks of Home Delivery and Click+Collect slots over the summer, giving customers more flexibility to book a time that works best for them to get what they need."
Additional Summer Improvements
Graham also noted that Tesco is offering same-day delivery in more stores than last summer and has increased Click+Collect availability in holiday hotspots to ensure customers can access their shopping when needed.
Recent Clubcard Changes for Teenagers
In addition to the delivery changes, Tesco introduced a new digital Clubcard for 16- and 17-year-olds at the end of June. This allows younger shoppers to access thousands of Clubcard Prices for the first time and collect points that can be converted into vouchers for in-store spending.
Teenagers cannot sign up independently; they must be invited by a parent or guardian through an existing Tesco Clubcard account via the Tesco app or website. Parents can send an invitation by selecting the account icon in the app, opening account settings, and choosing the 'Invite to Clubcard' option. Tesco advises that the app may need to be updated to the latest version if the feature does not appear.
Tesco Clubcard by the Numbers
Tesco's loyalty scheme has been running for over 30 years and remains the UK's largest supermarket rewards programme. More than 24 million households hold a Clubcard, which is used in over 80% of all Tesco sales and unlocks thousands of discounted Clubcard Prices every week.
