Sofa Club Opens Bar-Featured Edinburgh Showroom

Sofa Club has officially opened the doors to its latest outlet in Edinburgh's Fort Kinnaird Retail Park. It marks the company's seventh store across the UK and second in Scotland.

Measuring 9,300 sq. ft, the new showroom in the capital city opened on October 5, 2026. With a range of features, it has been designed to provide shoppers with "more than the traditional furniture shopping experience."

New Design Concept and Sofa Atelier

The full-service space introduces Sofa Club's new design concept. This combines "an elevated, cool and sophisticated interior with the relaxed, accessible personality the brand is known for", as reported by the Big Furniture Group.

Dubbed the firm's "sleekest showroom concept yet", the new Edinburgh branch offers customers a place to lounge. Said to bring "fashion-led lounging to the capital", it is a space for browsing, dwelling and "taking your sweet time."

Visitors will find the latest collections and the chance to discover new-season silhouettes. At the heart of the showroom is the sofa atelier, a dedicated space to explore different configurations, fabrics and finishes to support creating the finished piece.

Bar, Pet-Friendly Features and History

It also features a trendy, relaxed bar that encourages customers to take some time out from all the busy decision making. It's also pet-friendly, with water bowls being provided for four-legged friends.

The furniture firm began its journey as an online business, trading as Furniture4u, alongside being sold at pop-up promotions in shopping centres. It has become known for the use of its "luxe" chenille fabric that is said to be "soft to the touch with a subtle sheen".

Since being founded 14 years ago, Sofa Club has become recognised by publications such as Ideal Home, Woman & Home, Huffpost and Furniture News. It has grown to operate a total of seven showrooms across the UK, with locations including Hertford, Liverpool, Croydon, Newcastle and Cardiff. In Scotland, it also operates an outlet on Glasgow's London Road that opened in 2025.

Co-Founder's Excitement and Customer Reaction

Thomas O’Neill, Co-Founder told the Big Furniture Group: “We’re so excited to have officially opened the doors to our Edinburgh store. We wanted this space to feel like somewhere you genuinely want to spend time – not just somewhere you visit when you need a new sofa.

“From our sofa atelier to the bar, every element has been designed to make choosing a sofa feel more inspiring, relaxed and personal. Edinburgh is such an exciting city for us to be part of, and we can’t wait for customers to come in, get comfortable and experience the new Sofa Club.”

Sofa Club was established in 2012 by founder Louis Rose and Tom O'Neill under the tagline "fashion for your home". It began with the mission to provide stylish, accessible furniture that combined comfort standout style and everyday practicality.

News of the company has gone down well online following an announcement on the official Sofa Club Instagram. In response, one shopper wrote: "Ow exciting! Welcome to my city." A second excited shopper wrote: "Can’t wait!!" Another delighted user who already made a purchase wrote: "Just been and ordered our sofa."
