The SmartAir Boost Radiator Fan is now available at Yimbly for £45, reduced from £49.99 with the code AUTUMN10. The device uses four energy-efficient fans to redirect warm air from a radiator around the room, helping to distribute heat more evenly and potentially cutting the time it takes for a space to reach a comfortable temperature.
The portable unit can be placed on most radiator types without installation and features two fan speeds alongside manual and automatic modes. It can run plugged into the mains or cordlessly, offering up to 14 hours of battery life on its lower setting.
Features and Design
A notable function is its ability to direct warm air towards a clothes airer, potentially speeding up laundry drying. It also has a digital display showing battery life, fan speed and radiator temperature. Measuring 41cm in length, the compact device can be moved between rooms and includes an automatic safety shut-off should the radiator become excessively hot.
The manufacturer claims it costs less than half a penny per hour to run, though this figure is based on October 2022 electricity prices and excludes the cost of running the central heating.
Shopper Reviews
Shoppers say they are "really impressed" with the SmartAir Boost Radiator Fan. One reviewer said: "This fan is a fantastic piece of kit, we have it set on automatic, although you can have it set manually, we are really impressed with its performance."
Another commented: "Really warmed the room up in a short time. It was so warm. Slight noise, resembling when you have an electric fire on and hear the buzzing sound. But overall, a really good purchase and would definitely recommend it."
Alternatives and Limitations
Some customers noted size limitations, with one saying: "Great for warming a bedroom or another small room, for a large room you would require one for each radiator but nevertheless, good for dispersing the heat." Another cautioned: "Not as good as it says in adverts. Only good for small rooms."
For those seeking alternatives, QVC offers the Speed Comfort Discrete Radiator Fan Duo Pack for £79.96, while Morphy Richards has the HeatFlux Bedside Ceramic Fan Heater in black for £49.99. The SmartAir Boost Radiator Fan is available to purchase from Yimbly.
