The SmartAir Boost XL, a portable multi-fan heat circulator priced at £69.99 on the Yimbly website, is designed to improve heat distribution around the home, helping rooms warm up faster and potentially reducing energy waste.
The patent-pending device circulates warm air at living height rather than allowing it to rise towards the ceiling. By distributing heat more effectively, it can help a thermostat reach its target temperature sooner and switch heating off earlier.
How the SmartAir Boost XL works
Its axial fans channel warm air through specially designed air-conducting funnels. Users can choose between manual and automatic modes at the flick of a switch. The built-in heat sensor activates the fans when the radiator reaches 33°C, directing warm air into the room. When the radiator cools below 33°C, the fans switch off to avoid circulating cold air.
The device is described as energy-efficient, with running costs claimed to be less than half a penny per hour (running costs may vary depending on electricity tariff). It weighs 2.4kg and measures 81cm x 10.6cm x 11.5cm.
