Scullion LAW is preparing to welcome racegoers, clients, business partners and members of the local community to Hamilton Park today as the title sponsor of the Lanark Silver Bell Racenight.
Taking place on Friday, August 21, the event promises an evening combining high-quality racing, the heritage of one of Scottish racing's most recognised races and live entertainment, with GBX Anthems featuring George Bowie set to bring the night to a close.
The Lanark Silver Bell's Heritage
The Lanark Silver Bell holds a special place in Scottish racing history and has a long-standing connection with Hamilton Park. Following the closure of Lanark Racecourse in 1977, the historic trophy returned to Hamilton Park in 2008, with the race later elevated to Heritage Handicap status in 2022.
This year, racegoers will also have the opportunity to see the historic Lanark Silver Bell trophy for themselves, with the trophy being displayed within The Hill Bar within the Sir Ian Good Grandstand throughout the evening.
Centenary Year at Hamilton Park
The racenight is particularly significant for Hamilton Park as the racecourse celebrates its centenary year, marking 100 years of racing on Bothwell Road.
For Scullion LAW, the sponsorship provides an opportunity to support a major event in the local area while bringing together clients, colleagues, professional contacts and members of the wider community.
Charmaine Trainor, executive director and head of sales at Scullion LAW, said: “Events such as the Lanark Silver Bell are a great opportunity to step outside the office and connect with the people and businesses that make up the communities we are part of.
“We are delighted to be sponsoring this year's event and are looking forward to welcoming clients, colleagues, partners and racegoers to Hamilton Park on Friday. There is a fantastic programme of racing lined up, followed by GBX Anthems, so it promises to be a really enjoyable evening.
“As a firm with strong roots in Hamilton and the surrounding area, supporting events that bring people together is something we are pleased to be involved in. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there and enjoying what should be a memorable night.”
Race Card and Prize Money
Ashley Moon, Hamilton Racecourse managing director said: “We are delighted to have Scullion LAW as the title sponsors of this year's Lanark Silver Bell Racenight. Their support is hugely valuable to us, particularly during our centenary year, and it is fantastic to have Scullion LAW as part of this.
“We have plenty planned for what promises to be a fantastic evening. The Lanark Silver Bell is steeped in Scottish racing history, and the £103,000 Heritage Handicap is always one of the highlights of our season. This year's seven-race card boasts an impressive £210,100 in total prize money, before the racing makes way for GBX Anthems, bringing the night to a close with live entertainment.
“We are looking forward to welcoming Scullion LAW, their clients and partners, as well as racegoers from across Scotland, for what promises to be a fantastic night.”
