Porthcawl Health & Fitness has announced plans to build a brand-new facility, a move that will see the gym temporarily relocate from its current home at the Hi Tide while construction is underway.
Relocation during construction
The gym, which has operated from its current location for the past seven years, described the move as a "significant step forward for the business". The new build, still in its very early stages, is expected to be a "modern, inspiring space designed around members and the future of the community".
In a statement, the gym said: "We're incredibly excited to share some important news about the future of our gym. After seven wonderful years... at the Hi Tide, we're delighted to announce that we are taking the next step in our journey and preparing to build a brand-new, exciting health and fitness facility. As part of this exciting development, the gym will temporarily relocate while the new facility is being built."
Reassurance to members
The statement acknowledged that change can bring uncertainty but reassured members that the priority throughout the period will be to continue providing the same welcoming, supportive and community-focused environment.
"This investment represents a significant step forward for the business and will allow us to create a facility that we believe will be something truly special – a modern, inspiring space designed around our members and the future of the community," the statement continued.
"We are incredibly grateful for the continued support, loyalty and patience of our members, staff and wider community. Without that support, opportunities like this simply wouldn't be possible."
Next steps
The gym said there will inevitably be some changes and challenges along the way but that it is looking forward to bringing everyone on the journey. Further details about the plans for the new space will be shared as they are confirmed.
