POP MART is set to open its first dedicated store in Newcastle this Friday, October 16, at Eldon Square, following strong demand for its collectible toys across the UK.
The brand, which launched in 2010, has built a global following by blending art, fashion, and pop culture into collectible figures sold in mystery-style blind boxes. Each box contains a surprise figure, a format that has driven excitement and demand, with celebrities such as Dua Lipa and Rihanna among its fans.
Location and Opening Hours
The new store will be located in the Upper Mall on Blackett Bridge. An Instagram post announcing the launch told shoppers to 'get ready to discover their favourite characters, finds new collectibles and step into the world of POP MART.'
Opening hours will be 9am-7pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; 9am-8pm on Thursdays; and 11am-5pm on Sundays.
High Demand in the Region
The arrival follows a surge of interest in the region. In August, queues formed down the street when Forbidden Planet began stocking the toys in Newcastle city centre. Earlier, a POP MART pop-up vending machine at the Metrocentre in Gateshead attracted significant attention.
The response to the Instagram post announcing the store has been enthusiastic, with one commenter replying: 'Omg I need to go!' and another writing: 'Best news of 2026!'
