The opening date for a hugely popular new shop in Cardiff has been announced. Pop Mart, known worldwide for its collectible blind box toys and character-led designs, will open its first-ever Welsh store on Friday, June 19.
Pop Mart will officially open its doors in St David's Cardiff at 10am on Friday. The new 2,529-square-foot store will be located on the upper level of the Grand Arcade, near Zara and Sephora, and will showcase some of their most-recognised items like labubus, skullpandas, hironos, and crybabys.
The Beijing-based pop culture and entertainment brand has become a worldwide sensation owing to its immersive retail experiences and sought-after designer collectibles. The popularity of their blind box toys means their grand opening will likely see crowds of shoppers turn up to get their hands on the latest unique characters.
Speaking ahead of the opening, Helen Morgan, centre director at St David's Cardiff, said: "We're so excited to welcome Pop Mart to St David’s for its highly-anticipated Welsh debut. This is an excellent addition to our retail mix that our guests have been eagerly awaiting and reflects our continued commitment to bringing world-class, experience-led brands to Cardiff."
Ian Ashton, head of retail for Pop Mart UK, said Cardiff was the perfect destination for a new store, adding that the new branch would give new fans the chance to discover what makes the brand unique.
