Nottingham Belfry Hotel & Spa Collapses into Administration, All Staff Made Redundant

Nottingham Belfry Hotel & Spa, a four-star venue in Mellows Way, has entered administration, with all staff reportedly made redundant. The hotel continued trading after administrators were appointed on January 7, but ceased operations with immediate effect on Tuesday, February 10.

FRP Administrators, appointed as joint administrators, confirmed the closure in a statement to customers. 'It is with sincere regret that I must advise that the Company, trading as Nottingham Belfry & Spa, entered Administration on 7 January 2026 with Ian Corfield and Anthony Simmons appointed as Joint Administrators,' the statement read. 'Subsequently, the Company ceased trading with immediate effect on Tuesday, 10 February 2026.'

The hotel employed 121 staff in the year ending 2024, though the exact number of redundancies is unclear. The administrators described the situation as 'incredibly difficult' and apologised for the disruption caused. The hotel had faced significant financial pressure due to wider challenges in the hospitality industry.

Anthony Simmons, director at FRP and joint administrator, had previously stated last month that they were actively seeking a buyer. 'The Nottingham Belfry Hotel & Spa is a high-quality venue with an excellent reputation and a strong presence in the local market. We’re actively seeking a buyer and are focused on securing a positive outcome that preserves the business and protects jobs,' he said.

The hotel offered over 120 guest bedrooms, a restaurant and bar, an event space, and a health spa. The administrators expressed gratitude to partners and customers for their support over the years.
