B&M shoppers are going wild for a new flavour of Jammy Dodgers that has just hit the shelves, with many declaring they 'have got to try' the latest addition to the classic biscuit range.
New Orange Flavour Spotted
The new Orange flavour of Jammy Dodgers has been spotted at budget retailer B&M, and fans are already eager to get their hands on them. Popular foodie account New Foods UK shared a photo of the orange-filled biscuits on Instagram and Facebook, sparking excitement among followers.
One shopper exclaimed: 'They look so good!' while another added: 'Oh, this is different. Might have to give these a try.' A third person commented: 'Bet they're well nice,' and someone who had already tried them wrote: 'Got these for the kids today. They love them.'
A food hack was also suggested by a fan: 'Dip the bottom in melted dark chocolate for a Jaffa Cake on steroids.'
A Beloved British Biscuit
Jammy Dodgers have been a staple in biscuit tins since 1960, originally launched by Burton's Biscuit Company and manufactured in Llantarnam, Wales. The classic biscuit is known for its red filling, which traditionally uses a flavoured plum purée base to achieve its sticky texture.
Over the years, the brand has introduced various flavours, including Apple & Blackcurrant, Sour Lemon, Double Chocolate, Cherry, and Mango & Passionfruit. Now, Orange joins the lineup.
Pop Culture Moments
Jammy Dodgers are regarded as a quintessentially British biscuit and have enjoyed several memorable pop culture moments. In 2009, they were included in a care package sent to the International Space Station for British astronaut Tim Peake. On BBC's Doctor Who, the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) famously used a Jammy Dodger to fool the Daleks in 2010.
The biscuits briefly altered their recipe to include dairy but returned to their vegan-friendly formula in 2020.
