Molly-Mae Hague has shared her postpartum hair loss routine, crediting a Kerastase serum that is currently on sale. In her latest YouTube video, the former Love Island star said her hair had 'never looked better' and attributed the improvement to the Kerastase Genesis Anti-Hair Fall Nourishing and Fortifying Hair Serum, which she said was recommended by her sister.
Serum reduced to £18.80
The Kerastase Genesis Anti-Hair Fall Nourishing and Fortifying Hair Serum normally costs £23.50 but has been reduced to £18.80 on LookFantastic. The hair oil is designed to 'target weak strands' and can be used daily to 'help protect, condition and minimise the risk of breakage'.
Molly-Mae said she recommends Kerastase hair products '110 per cent'. She explained: "I don't think my hair has ever looked better really - especially since having my colour put back on. My sister put me onto this product when she was going through a bit of a weird phase with her hair."
Postpartum hair loss preparation
The former Love Islander continued: "She noticed that her hair was basically falling out and was really thinning around the front. So many people recommended this product [Kerastase Genesis Anti-Hair Fall Nourishing and Fortifying Hair Serum] to her and then she recommended it to me because she loves it so much."
She added: "This is something I have now added into my routine in the last month and I am loving the results so far. I know I'm not going to get hit with the proper postpartum hair loss for probably about six months like I say, but I am going to do what I can to put myself in better stead for when that does come."
Molly-Mae described the formula as "really lightweight" and said she applies a couple of pipettes to her scalp and massages it into her roots.
Shopper reviews and alternatives
The serum holds a 4.1 average star rating on LookFantastic. One shopper said: "This product is amazing; my hair falls out less when brushing, and it smells lovely. Doesn’t make my hair too greasy either." Another customer posted: "Love this, it has helped me so much. You have to be consistent and massage your scalp - but not too hard."
However, Sue wrote: "I use a number of Kerastase products and would rate them highly. However, this one was not quite for me. It can feel a little too slick on the hair, and it removes most of the body in my hair." Pal added: "I have been reading good reviews for this product for months and then finally decided to try it and wow it works wonders on my dry fizzy hair so well. I have used it for around two weeks now and I can see clear results in the texture and volume of my hair."
Elsewhere, Boots sells the L'Oreal Paris Elvive Growth Booster Scalp Serum Anti Hair Loss Scalp Treatment for £17, which is said to 'prevent hair thinning and reduce hair loss in up to 12 weeks'. Sephora offers the Nioxin Professional Density Defend Diaboost Hair Thickening Serum for £63.20, described as a 'hair thickening treatment that enhances the appearance of fuller, thicker hair'.
