McDonald's brings back Black Pepper and Garlic Chicken Nuggets in UK gaming menu
McDonald's brings back Black Pepper Garlic Nuggets in UK

McDonald's is bringing back a crowd-pleaser on August 25 with the return of Black Pepper and Garlic Chicken Nuggets as part of its new menu. First causing a stir at McDonald's Japan, these flavour-packed nuggets made a short but wildly popular UK debut during the "World Menu Heist" in October 2025. Now, they're officially back to reclaim their spot on the menu.

Gaming-themed menu collaboration with Xbox

The Black Pepper and Garlic Chicken Nuggets feature a crispy garlic coating with a sharp black pepper kick. Their latest return is part of a gaming-themed menu created in collaboration with Xbox, and these nuggets are taking direct inspiration from the Moa dishes in the Halo universe.

And if you need something to dip your nuggets in, there is also the launch of the new Fiery Buffalo Dip, worthy of Ragnaros, the Lord of Fire himself, Azeroth from World of Warcraft. The new sauce is perfect for those looking to heat up their chicken nuggets or chicken selects. For the first time in the UK, the creamy, tangy buffalo style dip will be available after becoming a viral fan favourite in the US. McDonald's UK fans prayers have been answered after being so desperate for it, they had created petitions begging for it to launch over here.

New items and sweet treats

What's more, there is also the launch of the Cheesy Potato Bites, inspired by the game Fallout76, and the new Cherry Blossom Fizz - a mix of Sprite Zero with a sugar-free sour cherry flavoured syrup, served over ice, inspired by the cherry blossom season featured throughout the world of Forza Horizon 6.5.

If you fancy a sweet treat, McDonald's are also releasing a Candy Crush chocolate McFlurry combining ice cream, swirled with chocolate covered biscuit and chocolate sauce. And finally, in a tribute to Kiriko's beloved snack in Overwatch, the sweet treat Sugar Donut will appear in limited-time packaging across restaurants.

Digital rewards and pricing

The experience extends into the digital world in the McDonald's App, as customers will be able to use their Reward points to unlock exclusive in-game items across participating titles. The limited-edition menu is available across restaurants in the UK and Ireland from Tuesday, August 25.

Tim Kenward, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, McDonald's UK and Ireland, said: "Gaming is all about imagination and the worlds we love to get lost in. What excites me about this partnership is that we're bringing parts of these iconic gaming worlds to life, giving fans the chance to experience food they have only ever seen on screen. As a huge Fallout fan, I'm most excited for the Blamco Cheesy Potato Bites."
