Mars has confirmed a shake-up of its festive chocolate line-up, with new products introduced across M&M's, Snickers and Maltesers.
The confectionery giant's Christmas range includes Crispy M&M's Mini Santas, a small sharing bag of crispy, creamy Santa-shaped chocolates. They join the existing Crispy M&M's Santa range, which launched last year as single-serve Santa-shaped chocolates.
Snickers & Friends selection box
New for this year is Snickers & Friends, a chocolate selection box featuring Snickers, Twix, Mars and Snickers Creamy Duo bars.
According to The Grocer, Mars said the box is Snickers' first Christmas proposition designed to attract more male customers. A spokesperson said: "In a sub-category that skews towards female shoppers, the launch targets male gifters who are under-indexed in selection box formats."
Maltesers White Box
Maltesers lovers also get a new festive product. The Maltesers White Box will be stocked on supermarket shelves during the festive season, aimed at "under-35s, who over-index in white chocolate".
The release follows the return of white chocolate Maltesers last June, after the sweets had disappeared from shops for more than a decade.
Mars on the launches
Steve Waters, seasonal senior brand manager at Mars Wrigley, said: "Christmas remains a calendar highlight for many, and consumers will invest in creating memorable occasions."
He added: "Our launches have been designed to add excitement to the fixture, combining affordable indulgence with trusted flavours and formats to meet the needs of today's value-conscious shoppers."
